A group of young designers and art historians have been associated with the Saptasajya Festival since 2022.
Jagrutee Das
Jagrutee Das is an alumini of NIFT Hyderabad and has been working in the industry for more than 7 years now.
She has also been imparting design education to the new generation of aspiring creative professionals. Through her work she has explored various handicrafts and handlooms of India like Pattachitra, Kalamkari, Ikat, a variety of hand embroideries, Silver Filigree, Sabai Grass, yarn crafts etc. She is the co-founder of “Artistre”, a brand that offers new age products and apparels using the skills, materials and aesthetics of Indian artisans.
Sidharth Mohanty
Sidharth Mohanty, graduated from MSAP in 2017, worked at Design4 moved to BBSR '18, and was a part of a startup called ICN.
He has experience designing & managing projects for the hospitality, commercial, and residential sectors. Been a part of the Saptasajya festival since 2019. The major ingredient in designing interior spaces is its details and Dhokra had diverse characteristics that are used in interior spaces.
Grateful to be a part of the Saptasaja festival. it provides a unique experience documenting the craft as well as enhancing the products. Spending time with the artisans, indulging in the making process, and communicating new ideas, are some of the key goals.
Sakshi Jain
Sakshi Jain is a fashion and graphic designer by profession. With her clothing line BASISK, she is a content distribution manager for a creative agency.
She has worked with companies across industries for branding, ad campaigns, content designing over the last two years of her freelancing experience and continuing to do so. Presently, she is also teaching in JD Institute of Fashion Technology Bhubaneswar as a faculty in the fashion design department. To her design is simply the beginning as it is not found in the components but in the process of becoming, a form of enquiry.
Saira Afaque
Saira Afaque is a designer having 10 years of experience in handloom, handicraft and applique designs.
She also works as a freelancer on various projects with many well known brands. In her illustrious career as a designer she has associated herself with many prestigious projects like designing sarees for Boyanika, working on theme pavilion for Toshali based on the age old appliqué craft of Odisha, Home Furnishing project for UTKALIKA, Applique and home furnishing project for SIDAC etc. Additionally, she is also a design educator.
Vivek Budhia
Vivek Budhia would like to introduce himself as jewelery designer, manufacturer and product developer.
Under his brand Shilp Shastra, he deals with various kinds of traditional and modern yet chic jewelery which is the fusion of different cultures of India through which he tries to revive the diminishing art.
Sheela Jena
Sheela Jena is from Jharsuguda. She is an alumni of NIFD, Bhubaneswar.
She has been in the fashion industry for the last 8 years. She is also an empanelled designer with DC Handicrafts and SIDAC. As a designer her inclination is more towards the practical use of it and she plans to focus on that at Saptasajya Festival 2022.
Jyoti Ranjan Sahoo
Jyoti Ranjan Sahoo is an artist and designer. Presently pursuing his masters in visual arts.
He has participated in many seminars, workshops and camps like Kalakumbh organized by NGMA, Delhi; Megha Utsav organized by Lalit Kala Academy, Paryatan Parv by Indian Tourism etc. As a designer he has been associated with many leading brands and institutions like SIDAC, NIFT, KISS etc.
In his first participation at Saptasajya Festival, Jyoti would be working and experimenting with bell metal to come up with utilitarian products having an artistic touch.
Swoyamprava Puhan
Swoyamprava Puhan, a fashion designer presently based in Bhubaneswar, is a graduate from INIFD Bhubaneswar.
It’s always been her interest to explore and experiment in various routes of designing. Having special love for digital art and illustrations. She has collaborated with different brands . She designs customized wedding cards. Currently, she is working as a head designer in a apparel brand named Dachier.
Bibhudatta Malik
Bibhudatta Malik is an artist and designer from Odisha. He graduated as a fashion designer from NIFT, Bhubaneswar.
He is currently working as a freelancer. He has an industry experience of 2.5 years working in a reputed luxury couture house of Sabyasachi, Calcutta.
Athousana Singha
Athousana Singha is a young architect creating spatial experiences.
He started his career as a freelance graphic designer, contributed his best in creating brand image for Agro & Pharmaceutical companies then started his own architecture firm. He always looks forward to explore the world though design interventions.
